Facial Rejuvenation: Great Skin, Greater Self-Esteem

As we age, it is natural to look for ways to make our appearance more youthful and robust. Each person has a unique set of facial issues that surface when navigating the aging process. For some, simple things such as hydration, avoiding tobacco, limiting sun exposure, and basic skin care, are all they require to maintain a positive sense of self-image.

People who wish to take a more proactive approach may add an assortment of additional services such as:

  • Spa services
  • Skin care products
  • Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin
  • JuvĂ©derm family of fillers
  • Restylane family of fillers
  • Radiesse and Sculptra
  • Liquid facelift

Procedure Overview

Spa Services/Skin Care Products

After thoroughly evaluating your skin, our licensed medical estheticians will offer recommendations that can make meaningful improvements in your facial appearance. You may pursue your goal of restoring the radiance of your skin at your own pace. Our luscious menu of facials offers something for every skin type and the exquisite line of RenewalMD skin care products are sophisticated enough to target a host of skin conditions in a safe, predictable fashion.

Injections

As wrinkle patterns become more ingrained in the skin of the forehead, between the eyes and associated with the crow’s feet, Botox and Dysport will relax specific facial muscles of expression, causing the unwanted wrinkle to fade.

Deeper furrows and creases may be improved by the injection of soft tissue fillers such as Juvéderm and Restylane. The powerful collagen stimulators of Radiesse and Sculptra may be used to add soft tissue volume to most areas of the face (lips & eyelids excluded) and lasts nearly 18 months.

For a more permanent enhancement, we can include facial implants to help restore lost volume of the cheek bone area, nasolabial folds, temples, marionette area and jaw line.

Stimulating Your Collagen Production

So far, the treatments discussed above help improve your facial appearance by using a combination of daily, common-sense measures, reduction of the more prominent wrinkles with neurotoxins, and/or the augmentation of soft tissue volume with some type of filler material. None of these steps, so far, will have much of an impact upon the texture and appearance of the skin itself.

All successful methods of skin rejuvenation have in common their ability to increase collagen production; we refer to this as collagen induction. This additional collagen helps reduce pore size, render improvements in the texture of the skin and reduce fine lines, most notably around the mouth and crow’s feet.

Forget about those popular dietary supplements that claim to increase your collagen levels. Their ingredients are promptly digested in your G.I. tract and never reach their intended destination. Furthermore, you cannot successfully rub collagen into your skin as advertised by many manufacturers of skin care products.

The only way to convince your skin to make more collagen is to stimulate it with a mild, controlled injury utilizing medical technology such as lasers, chemicals, and micro-needling. Your skin will respond by activating the wound healing process thus increasing its collagen synthesis. This increase in collagen production continues for several months.

Laser Facial Rejuvenation

The term laser facial rejuvenation has evolved to generally imply the use of medical grade technology such as:

  • Radiofrequency microneedling
  • Ultherapy

These technologies are used to spark an increase in collagen production, or to deal with certain color disturbances (capillaries and sun spots).

Think of these treatments as highly calibrated micro-injuries to your skin, which will respond by triggering the healing process, thus ramping up the synthesis of collagen. The presence of this additional collagen renders the skin more youthful. Fine lines and pores are diminished as the new collagen refreshes the interior of your skin. The outward appearance of your skin looks refreshed as the collagen density of your skin is restored.

These technological modalities may be used individually, or in combination, to ramp up your collagen production. And they may be used not only on the face but can be applied to about any part of the body. Each patient is unique, and our recommendations will reflect your individualized needs and budget.

Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

And finally, for those seeking to improve facial areas plagued by skin laxity, several surgical procedures are available to help rejuvenate your facial appearance. These include:

  • Brow Lift
  • Earlobe Repair/Reduction
  • Eyelid Lift
  • Facelift
  • Facial Implants
  • InstaLift
  • Neck Lift
  • Otoplasty (Protuding Ears)
  • Rhinoplasty
