Restylane Family of Fillers

Restylane is a natural dermal filler that actually fills facial wrinkles and folds for non-surgical wrinkle treatment. Made from a water soluble substance that is already present in your skin called hyaluronic acid, Restylane restores volume to your skin. Restylane wrinkle treatment can help you look younger and more relaxed without surgery. Restylane is also used for lip enhancement.

The wrinkle-reducing effects of Restylane injections are not permanent, but results are instant. Although results vary, they typically last up to six months. Injections may be repeated as necessary. Restylane is injected into the skin with thin needles, causing facial wrinkles and folds to be “filled,” adding volume to areas that have become creased as a result of aging. The injection process only takes about ten minutes, and most patients do not need anesthesia, although a topical anesthetic can be applied, if desired.

Restylane Lyft is a cosmetic dermal filler that replaces lost volume and restores youthful contours to the skin to smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds).

Restylane Lyft is made of hyaluronic acid. In the human body, natural hyaluronic acid provides volume and fullness to the skin. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane Lyft has been modified slightly to last longer than the body’s hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane Lyft is produced by a biotechnical process.

Restylane Lyft is hydrophilic or “water loving.” The hydrophilic nature of these hyaluronic acid molecules and their three-dimensional structure allows them to bind many times their own weight in water. As hyaluronic acid begins to degrade, each molecule binds to more water, which helps to maintain its volume for about six months.

Restylane Lyft contains no animal proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reactions. Restylane Lyft contains trace amounts of gram-positive bacterial proteins and are contraindicated for patients with a history of allergies to such material. No allergy testing is required before use.

Restylane Kysse is a hyaluronic acid (HA) lip filler designed to enhance lip volume and minimize the appearance of fine lines above the mouth. It has also been shown to improve texture and lip color. It is the first FDA-approved HA lip filler formulated with XpresHAn Technology for smooth, natural-looking results. The XpresHAn Technology manufacturing process allows for a gel that integrates into the skin for natural expression in motion.

Clinical results from multiple studies show that treatment with Restylane Kysse can provide added volume in the lips and improve the appearance of lines above the mouth, with results lasting for up to one year after the last injection.

Kysse is a gel and, when properly injected, creates a soft and more natural look. Typically, no downtime occurs. Patients may return to normal activities post-treatment. The most commonly observed side effects are swelling, tenderness, bruising, pain, and redness at the injection site. These are typically mild in severity and usually resolve within seven days after treatment.

Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne are unique in that they’re flexible and stretch under the skin with facial expressions, so that even if you’re laughing or frowning, they’re not visible under the skin. This makes them especially helpful for areas with muscles that pull the skin in multiple directions, such as around the mouth.

Restylane Refyne is a soft, stretchable filler that can be used close to the surface of the skin, as well as deep below the surface. This makes it an excellent choice for lips, foreheads, crow’s feet, and smoker’s lines, as well as in the marionette areas outside the corners of the mouth &=and in the lips.

Restylane Defyne is a medium thickness filler that is used to fill deeper lines, such as marionette lines (sad mouth lines) and nasolabial (nose to mouth corner lines) folds.

The technology associated with Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne helps reduce swelling associated with treatments compared to some of the other hyaluronic acid fillers. This makes Restylane Refyne an excellent choice in the lips, where swelling is usually noticeable with other filler choices. Both Restylane Defyne and Restylane Refyne last about 12 months, so many patients will get a touch up after about nine months to maintain their improvements.
